上司：唔，時間剛剛好。叫她進來。目標要來了。
Meg: Here, this is the last runaway ”dark" story I'll ever write for this stupid paper. I quit!
Meg：你要的東西，這叫我險些丟命的爛故事肯定是我最後一篇為你們這本爛雜誌寫成的文章。我要辭職！
McAllister: Huh, nice to see you too, Meg. But for your next "designment", how would you like to travel to faraway countries and become a world-wide celebrity?
上司：呼，能再看見你真高興，Meg。但在你作出下一個決定前，你想要去一些遙遠的國度，並成為家傳戶曉的名人麼？
Meg: I said I qu… Did you mention faraway countries?
Meg：我說我辭…你剛才是說遙遠的國度麼？
McAllister: Yes, matter of fact that I did.
The Donovan Corporation recently acquired the prestigious World Geographic Magazine and I suggested your name for a very special project.
上司：是的，我剛才有說到。

Meg: World Geo? Wow! Okay, what's the catch?

You'll leave it for Africa tomorrow night.
We made arrangements to have a boat waiting to take you and your team to a…
Well, "what you see", somewhere in the jungle.
You'll have to find the man who goes by the name of Steppenwolf.
Check your e-mail for additional instructions once you get there.
上司：放心，沒有代價。
這些便是你的機票。
你明天晚上便會出發到非洲了。
我們還己安排了船隻，載你和你的隊員去到…
呃…如你所見，森林的某處。

McAllister: Yes, it's all ”gone” according to plan.

Meg: Are you sure you don't need any help with those bags?

Derek: Thanks, but this equipment is extremely valuable and it must be handled with the "utmost" position.

The secret "land" has no place to hang around during the native sacrifice.
Unless you want to become of these sacrifice "instead this"…

以下個人運轉生鏽的腦子後的東西，希望能幫上忙：

"gone" --> Go
"wait until" --> Waiting to
Sure, whatever. 我覺得比較像「是、是，隨便啦」這種意思。
還有 hang around 要不要翻成「閒晃」，翻流浪總覺得很奇怪...。 |

我是Meg Crimson。我是世界地理雜誌的記者。我本打算辭職，但當我的上司McAllister，突然委派了我去做這個難以置信的任務－－在互聯網寫一系列關於神秘野獸和怪物的報告。
As part of my assignment, I had to find Allen Kane, a secretive self-trained expert in cryptozoology, whatever that is, who lives in the jungle and calls himself Steppenwolf.
我的任務還要求我去找到Allen Kane。他是一個神秘和透過自習去認識神秘動物學的專家，呃，隨便啦。他現在住在非洲的森林，而且改叫自己Steppenwolf。
My assistant, Derek, and I were ambushed on our first day in the Congo.I managed to escape, but Derek wasn't so lucky. He was earmarked as the main course in a ghastly sacrificinal ritual.
我的助手Derek和我在剛果河流域的第一天就遭伏擊了。我之後成功逃走了，但Derek沒有如此幸運。在一個陰森的祭祀儀式中，他給那兒的土著指定作「主菜」。
This is when the mysterious Steppenwolf entered the picture. Our relationship got off to a rocky start. He's about as unpredictable as a wild animal himself. Still, he managed to neutralize the Mokele Mbembe when I free derek from precarious position.
這時，Steppenwolf來到了。我倆一開始的關係不太好。他的性情就像野生動物般難以預料。不過，在我救Derek脫離險境時，他同時成功迷暈了那頭Mokele Mbembe。
In the end, he got away safe and sound. But I can't help but feel that there is more to this thing than meet the eye. Maybe I'll find out more in the Himalayas.
最後，Derek也安然無恙的離開了。但我就是禁不住自己去認為這件事情比我所看到的更為複雜。也許之後我可以在喜馬拉雅山知道更多的事情。

話說看到這文章會讓我也有種想做點事的感覺，之前有找到一篇官方Q&A，考慮有空時來試著翻譯一下。
另外請問可以不要刪留言嗎?我擔心以後自己看起來會像在一個人自言自語XD。

其實翻譯所有X檔案和神祕解謎系列裡的英文是我當板物之後的一大目標
但是現實生活中真的很忙，無法花這麼多心力在ＧＳ做這個大工程
你們這篇文章是踏出第一步，希望接下來能吸引更多英文達人來幫忙翻譯
福仔現在真的很少時間能來ＧＳ，希望大家能多多包涵
遊戲學校也即將要在不久的將來進行大規模改板

主要是想理解遊戲中的劇情喔!主要是2-1、2-2和2-4的劇情我很想知道
所以如果有空可以先把2-1、2-2和2-4的劇情先翻譯完畢
不過既然事件一還沒完全翻譯完畢那就先把事件一的劇情先翻譯完畢吧!

Meg: We got to get away fast! These guys are real killers!
Steppenwolf: No! I must meditate in the shrine first. Otherwise, we will never find the path leading to the Yeti.
Monk: To the guardian of the mountain, your praise the Buddha will lead you. (這似乎是指解迷的地方) Meanwhile, a safe passage out of the temple, we will take you to. Of your friend, we shall take care later.
Meg: But, my report?
Steppenwolf: Don’t worry, our host knows the way.
結尾:
Meg: Where are we going? Are you sure he is going to be there?
Monk: I’m sure about this. At the highland of this road, this is where we will see Steppenwolf again. All of them to be sure the hardest path he will choose. Always he does, even when he just suits, no one is.
Meg: Hm, That’s him alright.
